October 11th Evening Garden Party
September was a great month for the Garden! Back on the 20th of September we had a Garden Kick-Off Party where over 9 people in attendance. We began weeding the Garden & Orchard from us letting it go during the fires…all in preparation for a Simpson University strike team that came out that very next Saturday, the 22nd of September.
That Saturday we have a little over a dozen students and a handful of others with Heritage Missional Community come out to continue weeding & begin laying down mulch.
Last week we had a Garden Party where we continued weeding and pulled up some other decorative plants temporarily that were up against the building in preparation for the Main Coffee House Building to finally be painted this week! Prep work for that is happening as I write this with extreme progress being made every day!
After hashing out schedules of those active in our community development projects, we now have a regular Evening Garden Party Schedule!
Evening Garden Parties will now be the 2nd & the 4th Thursday of each month from 5PM - 7:30PM with dinner provided!
This coming Evening Garden Party, October 11th we will continue weeding, laying mulch, and preparing the Garden Beds for winter planting - we will also be loading up a truck of weeds to take to the dump the next day!
Once we are done for the evening we will share a homecooked meal in the coffeehouse - we will be serving Spaghetti Squash(from Farmer Stephanie Bird with Garden Thyme from the Shasta Lake Farmers Market), Meat Sauce, and some other fixings!
