For us to come back stronger in 2019, we’ve recognized the need to build up our Market Team to see that tasks get completed well! Below we outline various Roles that need to be filled and tasks that need to be complete.

Market Day Assistant & Volunteer Coordinator -

*2-3 People Can Hold this Title, a Barista can Participate*

  • Directing Vendors

    • Correct Booth Space

    • Loading & Unloading Zones

    • Parking

  • Directing & Assisting in Pre-Market Set Up

    • Canopies

    • Road Blocks

    • Signs

    • Trashes

  • Assisting Vendors with Canopies - As Needed

  • Contacting Volunteers Prior to Market Day for Attendance

  • Directing Volunteers

    • Set Up

    • Tear Down

Commitment Duration: 2019 Market Season, Responsibility would Rotate between all Individuals holding this Title

Requirements:

  • Creates a Free Account with Trello to Collaborate with Market Team through the Shasta Lake Creative Community Planning Board

  • Attends Monthly Market Team Meetings

Incentive: Waived Vendor Booth Fee for the Season

Communicator & Recruiter -

*1 Point Person(Not Market Manager) + Help of Collective Market Team*

  • Contacting Potential Vendors

    • Attending Other Markets to Recruit

    • Using List of Certified Producers from the Agricultural Department to Email/Call to Recruit

    • Recruiting Potential Vendors through Facebook & Instagram

  • Online Communication

    • Using the Shasta Lake Creative Community accounts, Responding to Comments & Messages pertaining to the Shasta Lake Farmers Market

    • Assisting Market Manager with Checking In on Vendors for Attendance

Commitment Duration: 2019 Market Season

    • Hanging Banners

    • Distributing Handouts

  • Vendor Specific

    • Turn Vendor Surveys into Blogs

    • Schedule Blogs to Post

  • Weekly Virtual Advertisement (May - December)

    • Sharing FB Event on Facebook Groups

    • Helps Maintain Weekly SLCC Newsletter

    • Helps with Weekly Blog with Market News, Deals, and Price Sheet(Grocery List)

    • Helps with Social Media Advertising(Share Event thought Facebook Groups, FB/Insta Posts, Insta Story Creation)

General Volunteer -

For individuals that can not assist with Market Logistics but can occasionally be boots on the ground. *General Volunteers would be contacted by our Volunteer Coordinator when more man power is needed for the tasks below…*

  • Market Set Up/Tear Down

  • Special Event Set Up/Tear Down

  • Assistance with Poster, Yard Sign, & Hand Out Distribution

Incentive: One Free Drink of Choice from Heritage Coffee House during Volunteer Commitment
