Hey Barista! Whats good?!

As Baristas we’ve likely tried everything on the menu! We often experiment with brew methods, alternative milks, flavors, hot drinks, iced drinks - all of it!

We usually end up having a staple drink we always go back to…sometimes this drink depends on how much sleep we got, how the weather is, and what seasonal flavors we have available!

At Heritage, we LOVE giving out recommendation because specialty coffee shops should be a safe space to explore good drinks!

So we asked a few of our Baristas what they’ve been drinking - like what has been their go-to this Spring…check them out below!

Ciara - Oat Milk Latte w/ Honey OR an Americano

“Oat milk is a tasty milk alternative and quite creamy in flavor. I love americanos because of how much you can taste the espresso! I love the crema and its less calories. ;)”

Halie - 12oz Hot Quad Shot Breve Latte OR *Wait For It* 12Oz Iced Honey & Lavender Breve Latte with Quad Shots!

“Caffeine with body, a nice mouth feel from the Half n Half. With the iced drink, typically as the ice melts if you’re sippin’ your drink over a long period of time, it can get watery. But with Half n Half it stays super creamy, even if you stay awhile! "

Our Barista are always practicing their Latte Art, occasionally we have even hosted Latte Art Competitions at the shop or attended other Redding Latte Art Competitions…its important we stay on top of our game!

Sammie - Vanilla & Lavender London Fog w/ Almond Milk

“Been drinkin’ a little bit too much coffee lately and a London Fog is just a good break from coffee. The lavender is subtle, not too over powering, just right. Probably the best drink to have during Spring Showers!”

Hannah - 12Oz Quad Shot Latte w/ Organic Milk

“Love the coffee to milk ratio of a cappuccino but always want more to drink…so Quad Shot 12Oz is the best of both worlds. And the hippy in me gets Organic everything, haha, so its a no brainer that I get Organic Milk every. single. time.”

Not only is Hannah an Organic Nut but she is so extra that she has her Metal Straw with her always. XD

Did they lose you with all that coffee lingo? …Breve? …Americano? What?

We want to decipher the lingo because often times not understanding the fancy wording on a menu can prevent you from trying something new and discovering a new favorite drink! And we get it, some of us had no idea what an Americano was before becoming a Barista!

Barista Lingo Defined!

Milk Alternative - Our standard for any drink is Whole Milk. However, at Heritage we have many Milk Options to choose from. Of our Dairy Choices is Fat-Free Milk, Half N Half, and Organic Whole Milk(Add $.75). Of our Non-Dairy Choices is Oat Milk(Add $.75) and Almond Milk(Add $.75).

Breve - Breve is just a fancy word for Half n Half.

Americano - An Americano is typically Hot Water with Shots of Espresso but you can also get this Iced! Much like a regular cup of coffee but with the rich flavor that comes from Espresso.

London Fog - This is a tea latte made with Earl Grey Tea, Steamed Milk, and Vanilla. Its usually a Hot drink but some people have liked it Iced.

Quad Shot - It is what you think it is….4 Shots of Espresso…yes, our baristas are that wired!(Add $1.50)

Specialty Coffee should never be intimidating and you should always be happy with your drinks!
