We're hosting a Health Fair!
Community organizations and healthcare providers team up to add health fair to 2016 Boomtown Festival
In an effort to increase awareness of health and wellness in the Shasta Lake City area, our Community Center has teamed up with local healthcare providers to host a health fair in conjunction with this year’s Boomtown Festival and Parade (formerly Shasta Damboree Festival).
This idea stemmed from the desire to provide effective and patient-centered health education through meeting the community in its own setting. We hope to increase awareness of health risks through screenings and information, speak to the management of some of the major chronic disease processes, notify the general population of the Shasta Lake Area of their health and wellness resources, and to motivate participants to make positive health behavior changes,
This health fair is free to the public and is set to be held Saturday, April 30th from 11 AM to 2 PM in Clair Engle Park. Headlining sponsors include Heritage Community Center, Dignity Health North State, Shasta Community Health Center, and the Shasta Damboree.
We hope to see you there!
